  1. "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger is an interesting book that I can't seem to put down. To be honest, the book was confusing at the beginning because it jumped to random parts of his life. The main character is Holden Caulfield and he is basically explaining things are happening in his life. He has kind of a "bad boy" reputation, being kicked out and all. I don't quite understand why he hasn't been trying in school. David just doesn't seem to care about it too much though, except for his English class. Holden is asked to write Stradlater's because he had a date with a girl named Jane Gallagher. Even though Holden clearly had feelings toward Jane, he agrees to write the paper for him. So far, I like how the book is written in the means of a teenager’s point of view. This way the book is easier to understand and makes it more fascinating. Will he continue to not try in his classes and flunk out? What will happen between him and Jane? Also, I wonder how his parents are because he only gave a brief description about them. I am curious to find out what else will happen in the book and see if he will change his ways.

    1. I agree, the book is confusing because it jumps from one thing to another. I sure hope to see something more interesting later in the book.

  2. The book “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D Salinger is a pretty good book because it’s from a teenage point of view, and it’s also written in a first person narrative. On the other hand the book is moving really slow. This book is about a guy named Holden Caulfield who’s telling us his life a few days after getting kicked out of a famous prep school in Agerstown, Pennsylvania. He failed four out of five of his classes; English was the only subject he passed. Holden is a very immature, depressed guy who constantly wants to talk to someone. The part that got me off track of the book is when he talks about one thing, then something else pops up in his head and he starts talking about another thing. The really good thing about this book is he describes every single detail, it sometimes feels like I’m present in his story. I sometimes wonder if Holden will ever have the guts to call up Jane? When will he tells his parents that he got kicked out of Pencey? Will he consider going to another school after being kicked out of his fourth school?
